The Piccolo Kitchen: A Discussion with Rosie Morton & Amina Shah
A Discussion with Rosie Morton & Amina Shah, hosted by Sarah Rankin.
Join us for a discussion around food, music and culture in modern Scotland with Rosie Morton, Amina Shah, and hosted by Sarah Rankin.
Rosie Morton has her finger on the pulse across a variety of sectors in Scotland, including our wonderful food and drink scene. She has worked as a lifestyle journalist for nearly seven years, studied French and Spanish, and is a self-confessed foodie. Her appreciation for hearty, homemade food was passed down through the generations - her great-great-grandfather was a master baker who set up the business 'Valentine the Baker' and her mother is an incredible home cook. So, it's little wonder that Rosie finds great joy in uncovering local eateries that put Scottish, ethical food first. She is also a freelance TV presenter on BBC Scotland’s rural affairs programme, Landward. When Rosie’s not out exploring the hills, she's usually on a rowing machine or baking her heart out in the kitchen.
Amina Shah is Scotland's National Librarian and Chief Executive of the National Library of Scotland. She has worked in various roles across the Cultural Sector in Scotland for nearly 30 years and brings a wealth of knowledge and perspective.
Sarah Rankin is a MasterChef Finalist, food writer and lover of Scottish flavours and produce. Her first cookbook, ‘Kith’, celebrates seasonality, local producers and the joy of cooking for those you love.
She’s delighted to be hosting The Piccolo Kitchen sessions with a lineup of incredible local chefs, caterers, food activists and food writers.
Sarah celebrates Scotland’s Larder, local suppliers and artisan producers in her food writing, broadcasting, chef demonstrations, private dining, supper club and pop up collaborations.
You will be taken to our producing partner Assembly Festival to book your tickets.
