Folk fans get ready to tap your toes! Edinburgh’s only free-to-enter food festival now with the added flavour of a star-studded Folk music programme!
From 18 – 27 July, the Palais du Variété Speigeltent will come alive with fiddles, flutes and the finest folk music the world has to offer from as musicians from Scotland and beyond take the stage. Whether you’re a folk fanatic or new to the genre, this year’s musical offering has something for everyone.

- Duncan Chisholm - One of Scotland's most recognised and accomplished fiddle players and composers. Duncan has spent most of his life developing his own unique musical voice, a voice that brings characteristic spine-tingling magic to his music.

- Folksville - Hosted by Paper Sparrows, for over ten years, Folksville has been the cornerstone of Edinburgh's live music scene, offering a cosy atmosphere filled with the best in contemporary folk and Americana. Expect beautifully crafted original songs, heart-warming festive treats, and a community spirit that makes Folksville truly special.

- The Annual Folk & Food Festival Ceilidh - Returning to the Folk & Food Festival after last years incredible success, Fruin Ceildh Band will once more lead the adoring dishevelled masses in traditional dance in the beautiful Palais du Variete.

- The Unthanks - As part of 20th year celebrations, The Unthanks scale back for some intimate shows. The shows will draw from all parts of their repertoire, picking up undiscovered jewels, reframing history and drawing on the worlds of folk, jazz, orchestral, electronica and art-rock to create their own unique truth and beauty.

- Kris Drever & Chris Stout - Icons of the Scottish roots culture and two of the most powerful contemporary voices to sing out of it in the last quarter century. Come and hear songs and tunes you know and some you don’t, shining through the unique prism of these two ‘one of a kind’ musicians.

- The East Pointers - Prince Edward Island’s The East Pointers continue to redefine themselves. Their dancefloor-shaking, electro-trad glorious combination of folk/pop sounds has already seen them acknowledged as musical trailblazers internationally.

- Eliza Carthy & The Restitution - 2022 marked the 30th career anniversary of outstanding English folk musician and President of the EFDSS, Eliza Carthy MBE. To mark this significant milestone, she released a new album Queen Of The Whirl with her band The Restitution – featuring re-recordings of some of her ‘greatest hits’ and audience-favourites from the past 30 years, including songs from her three Mercury Award-nominated albums.
